Week 2 Post 2

Albert Einstein uses the light cone to help us think about space time. The light cone resembles an hourglass, and works similarly. The middle of the light cone is a singular point in space occupied by only a singular observer. This point is always at one point in time as well- the present time. The upper portion of the light cone is termed "all possible paths of emission photons". That daunting phrase is just a fancy way of saying that the atomic collisions created in all matter (no matter the compound or state) emits electromagnetic energy in the form of photons. This can be from ultraviolet light, visible light, gamma rays, micro waves etc... The photons travel in standing waves, and when those waves come into an observers presence, the passing of time is perceived. The imminent future of the observer unfolds with each oscillation of the standing wave. There is whole slue of standing waves that any observer has the potential to experience. It is all dependent on the actions of other observers.

As the photograph shows, the lower portion of the light cone represents the past. In technical terms, it is the inner path of absorption photons. Once a moment is experienced/ a standing wave is perceived, the future is made certain, the paths of a substantial amount of photons is definite, and the observers past is generated.

  1. Give me more information on "everybody has a unique position in space". What do you think that means for you personally?

    1. So no two observers will occupy the same position in space, and consquently will not perceive a moment equally. I think this is evidence for how you and I have vastly different experiences and because of that need to listen to, empathize with, and learn from each other to grow!
