Week 7 post 2

Evil is bad, and likely has some definitive origin within any individual. In christianity, evil comes from an obsession of power and knowledge and desire to be God. Sometimes people in positions of much power and knowledge become too comfortable, and when that authority is threatened, all hell breaks loose. 

In the year 2020, this concept seemed to be heavily apparent. In the beginning of the year, forrest fires were raging in Australia. A root cause was human caused climate change. Climate change can be largely accredited to unhealthy living habits of people and the stupid large amount of fossil fuel used in just about every area of our lives. People with lots of money in the oil mining industry have tons of power over global economics, but would be far from comfortable with changing their habits as it endangers their pleasant sheltered livelihood - regardless of the environmental benefits. Also, people can't bear the thought of eating less red meat (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkGf_ysViAA mike pence complaining about Kamala Harris's plans to change diet guidelines).

When march came around, fields of privileged people began the futile movement to disregard common sense guidelines to fight covid as it disturbs their comfort and the sudden change is perceived as a hit to their quality of life-- even if it means improving the quality of life of many thousands of others. The triumphant uncertainty gets the best of them. 

In May when racial tensions began burst, white people who were uncomfortable with the uncomfortable conversations of race relations took those strained feelings and made it clear change was not welcome. Rumors of criminals being released en masse and ANTIFA terrorist attacks spread like the Australian fires. The removal of vain statues, police and justice reform and equitable lawmaking seemed to be out of the question even though it has the potential to eradicate institutionalized racism.

Today, on January 3rd, 2021, apprehension is still brewing around the 2020 election. Pres. Donald Trump and his minions are having a tough time accepting election results as it disturbs the conservative power in the White House. The Presidents attitude trickles down to his supporters and soothing, but false, lies are mindlessly spewed.

 Amid all of this political tension, there is so much denial surrounding social injustices. One of which being unequal opportunities. Not only do people not accept that systemic racism is still extremely prevalent in the United States, they don't understand why "hard work" is not a reasonable answer to the problem.  In electromagnetism, photons vibrate at different frequencies which result in unique energies. Week 10 post 2

With 8 billion people on earth and an equal amount of vastly different perspectives of the world, there are equally as many different conclusions on the the essence of reality. But would it be accurate to conclude just one of those many different views is right? Clearly there is an essence of reality, but no one person could provide a perfect explanation of it.  Carrying off of week 6 is the idea of humility in that no one person is better for the reason that they have a better understanding of reality. The human mind is forever muddled with the obstructions of experiences and wonders and genetics that compose their definition of reality making it impossible to make 100% true deductions about our physical existence.  Collectively, world views of the universe are changing all of the time. Week 11 Post 2

 Taoism is an eastern religion that originated in china. It emphasizes living in harmony with the Tao (or "the way) and "advocates for humility and religious piety" (Oxford Languages Definition). The religious book of Taoism is the Tao De Ching written by Lao-Tzu. In it, Lao-Tzu explains how earth is a reflection of heaven, and run by universal heavenly laws- not laws of man. The more man interferes with the natural balance produced by the universal laws, the further away harmony retreats (The Tao of Pooh, Benjamin Hoff). The four principals of Taoism are simplicity, going with the flow, letting go and harmony.  Simplicity is ensuring a rudimentary lifestyle that emphasizes self sustainability and thus a good relationship with your environment.
